Do you remember the guy who used to troll comments and request underage and other ridiculous fan fiction? I cannot for the life of me remember the name he used. Any help?

Story Title: Where the River Meets the Sea
Author:[personal profile] marzipan77
Characters/Pairing: GEN. Daniel Jackson, Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter, Teal'c, George Hammond, Janet Frasier, Tonane, Xe'ls, T'akaya and a few surprises.
Rating: T, one character death, not a main character.
Word Count: 30,500
Summary: Daniel's return from Ascension was quick - his return to duty at the SGC, to his family, SG-1, even quicker. So quick that he might not be finished. As determined as he is to get his old life back, he's not quite the same - the mission to help Ryac and Bra'tac on Erebus certainly told him that. While Washington is eager to find out what he knows, some old friends need SG-1's help - and they intend to help Daniel, too. Whether he wants them to or not. Let's not even discuss Jack O'Neill's reaction. Spoilers for Spirits, The Fifth Man, and Orpheus. Inspired by artwork by the talented sg1mouse. Beta-ed by the fabulous DennyJ. All remaining errors are my own.

Did you know that Daniel Jackson and Tony DiNozzo share a birthday? That's not all.

Sharing my blog on the unfortunate lack of good writing on Tony's departure in the NCIS Season 13 Finale. Deja vu all over again.

Subject: "Show, don't tell."

Summary: In a visual medium like television, shouldn't it be even easier to follow this basic rule of writing? Why have so many lately ignored it? What's with all the exposition and backstory, anyway?

So, basically my thoughts on the current state of television, especially The X-Files. Spoiler alert - I didn't like it.

Title: “Black and White”
Author: [personal profile] marzipan77
Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: None GEN
Rated: T+ for violence, language
Summary: AU tag for the episode Frame-Up. Tony's dealing - dealing with the fact that his new Director turned him over to the not so tender mercies of the FBI. Dealing with the stink surrounding the whole mess with Chip Sterling. Dealing with Sacks' anger and antagonism. He's dealing - for now - but he knows it's not going to last. Tony's mind likes to reduce things to black and white. Wrong and right. Villain and hero. Figuring out who is on which side isn't always easy. But, then again, he's not as dumb as they all think he is. And he's done playing.
Set immediately after "Frame-Up"
Warnings: Angst/Whump/Non-canonical character death. Not for Ziva or Jenny fans.
Disclaimer: I don’t own NCIS, obviously, because things would have turned out much, much differently.

Just finished posting a new NCIS story on Ao3. Got some nice reviews, had some great discussions with other fans. Episode tag, as usual. Something Gibbs said hit all of my 'Quit Poking Tony with a Stick' buttons.

I've been slowly posting it on fanfic as well. Somewhere along the line I'd forgotten how truly weird people can be on that site. Read more... )

Jb 's fics are always a must read for me, and this one is no exception!  Fantastic team story, it includes peril, resourcefulness, argument, hurt, comfort, and our two scientists going the extra mile to get our team out of trouble.

So good.  Please leave a comment when you finish this great fic!

 “Taking the Bullet” Pt 4/4

Author: <lj user=marzipan77>

Jack/Ianto, some Jack/Gwen UST, Team, Rhys

Angst/Drama

Rating: Let’s say R, shall we?

Missing scenes and epilogue to “Meat”, Series 2

Summary: Some wounds are shallow, some deep; Ianto’s grown used to taking the bullets.  But when a psychic connection with a tortured creature leaves him empty, Ianto realizes he has nothing to lose.

Light engulfed Ianto in a soft glow, stroking across his skin, slipping into his pores to fill up every crevasse of his soul with warmth and strength.  It roused his withered spirit, dispelled the shadowy weights that wrapped it round, dissolved the bonds of despair and hopelessness.  At its center, where their lips met, his and Jack’s, it didn’t taste like passion or arousal, none of the familiar stirrings of need and want.

But it was primal and pure and selfless.

Summary: Some wounds are shallow, some deep; Ianto’s grown used to taking the bullets. But when a psychic connection with a tortured creature leaves him empty, Ianto realizes he has nothing to lose.

Jack was leaning back in his chair, his shoulders slumped, stormy eyes glued to the CCTV monitor on the shelf behind his desk. Watching Rhys and Gwen. Ianto clenched his teeth and set the bottles of water down silently. He saw the tensing of the captain’s shoulders as the couple sat in the sun, heads bent together, the breeze off the bay flinging Gwen’s dark hair across their faces. He watched Jack swipe the fingers of one hand across his lips, brow creasing. He wanted to turn and leave, storm off as if he were that romance-heroine faced with her lover’s betrayal, flouncing petticoats and heaving bosom – but dramatic scenes were more Jack’s style than his.

I'm making the leap of faith, my friends. I'm currently in the midst of penning an original fiction novel that I plan to - eventually - post electronically via Amazon. It's about a nearly immortal chap named Matthias and the world he lives in. It begins in the ancient world, if not quite the same ancient world as our dear Earth history maintains, and will end up in Steampunk London. I'd cross my fingers but it's darn hard to type that way.

The journey from fanfic writer to original fic writer has been an interesting one, so I've decided, in true 21st century instantaneous communication fashion, to begin a blog about it.

It's up on sg1marzipan77 dot wordpress dot com if anyone is interested in coming along on the journey and maybe making comments about their own fanfic voyages. I'd love to hear your stories, to see if our paths were similar, or what other fandoms you've found compelling.

Hope to see some of you there!
